To purchase a light bulb, consider individual bulb price, lifespan, lumens (brightness), and wattage/electricity cost (how much electricity it takes to light the bulb). Life span of LED bulbs is said to be 6 times higher that CFL. The life span of LED is 60,000 hours versus the CFL’s that is about 10,000 hours and the incandescent bulb’s that is 1,500 hours.

It can be used for surface mount or it can be recessed, deep flush-mount, for cove lighting, or under the garage eaves for extra security lighting.

Compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs, which are ENERGY STAR qualified bulbs, use about 75 percent less energy than standard incandescent bulbs and it is said to last up to 10 times longer. It can fit in the existing light fixtures formerly used for incandescent. Compact fluorescent light may not give the same lighting effect as regular incandescent light. It also has been noticed that the color emitted from the CFL light are not the same, when comparing the bulbs from different manufacturer.
